A lightweight crankshaft and flywheel reduce engine inertia, providing exceptional response at every speed.

An all-new available six-speed manual transmission delivers the smooth, concise movement that MAZDA's MX-5 is legendary for. An available six-speed Sport AT transmission can be controlled by both the shift lever and shift paddles behind the steering wheel. All the Zoom-Zoom you demand, and then some. A limited-slip rear differential is available on Touring and Grand Touring models.
